Birth and Beyond
Antenatal Workshops
Our one-day antenatal workshops for the first half of 2024 will run on the following dates:

COST: $150 PER COUPLE (+ booking fees)
We recommend attending the workshop that is closest to your due date. Workshops run from 9:00am to around 2:30pm with a break for lunch. The facilitator is a very experienced local midwife who works on the Maternity Ward at Alice Springs Hospital. Up to 6 couples per workshop so spots are limited and are usually booked out well in advance so book yours today!
What you will learn:
- Find out more about what to expect and how to prepare for labour. Discover the different positions that will encourage progress through the stages of labour, help reduce pain and give you the best chance to have the birth YOU want.
- Discover all the ways your birth partner can encourage and support you during and after the arrival of baby.
- Learn how to help your newborn adjust to life outside the womb during the first six weeks after birth: breastfeeding, swaddling, bathing, baby’s communication, nappies and much more.
- Learn how to adjust to your new life by exploring strategies for looking after yourself and supporting your partner during early parenting days.
Our workshops encourage an active, natural birth and focus on how to avoid interventions when possible. Limiting the numbers of people attending allows for a more personal experience with a lot of time for questions. It also gives an opportunity for participants to get to know each other and share this unique experience.
